Chiyoko Myose Guest Artist Exhibition at Tulsa Community College McKeon Center For Creativity

For the show at Tulsa Community College McKeon Center for Creativity, I arrived in Tulsa a couple of days before.  The weather was gorgeous.  I took some pictures of TCC's McKeon Center for Creativity, the home of my work for the month of March.

McKeon Center for Creativity is located in the Tulsa Cathedral District.  Many big churches and cathedrals are concentrated in this area.  I am going to post the photos of these buildings in the next blog.

The installation went very well thanks to two people's help.  The standing tables were very helpful for me.

The works started to appear in front of the outside background with some running vehicles.   They are looking  nice from the outside, too.

Here are some images of the finished works.

"LOVE" letters that were added in Chiba, Japan appeared nicely this time.  At some exhibitions they do, and at some other time, they don't.  It just depends on how I hang the piece.

The students from the class that I visited for a lecture were the first people who added new pieces of thread to my work in the city of Tulsa.

The paintings are here, too!  My paintings are available to purchase.  If you are interested in purchasing them, please contact me through my website Chiyoko Myose Website or just email me at cmyose@hotmail.com

Revisiting Previous Works -- Tumbled, Dried, and Softened

This installation is called "Tumbled, Dried, and Softened."   It was first exhibited at Mid-America Fine Arts Gallery, Wichita, KS, as a part of the WSU Sculpture Guild Show in 2013.    I collected about 1,500 sheets of used dryer sheets and hand sewed them together.

Revisting the Previous Works -- White Bird Parabola (2012)

Continued from the last post --  I've been revisiting my previous works to prepare for a Powerpoint presentation for the Tulsa Community College guest artist talk.

This work is called "White Bird Parabola." I made it in 2012 and it was exhibited in a WSU Sculpture Guild Show at Diver Studio, Wichita, KS.  Each feather ball was suspended by thread from the top.

Revisiting the Previous Works -- Snow Ball Tower (2013)

To prepare a Powerpoint presentation for the artist talk at Tulsa Community College Center 4 Creativity, I'm re-visiting my old photos and videos of my works.  I am going to share them here, too.

Snow Ball Tower (2013)

In the winter 2013, we had a lot of snow in Wichita.  My kids and I started making a snowman, but instead, we ended up with this snow ball tower.

That night, the tower touched the moon...!

Next morning, it fell down unfortunately, but I made more towers after that.

Then we had another round of snow...

Nest morning, it looked like this.

The fresh snow covered all the footprints of mine.

Some animals' footsteps in the fresh snow proved the presence of early risers.

I found that stacking multiple snow balls in cold weather was just a tedious and tiresome job.  However, during the process, I encountered things from nature that were alive and interacting with the towers, which made me discover the beauty of this process-oriented ephemeral land art.

Video Clip of Origami Cranes in Blue on YouTube

I have uploaded a short video clip of "Origami Cranes in Blue" to my YouTube channel.  This work was installed for a show at NU Steckline Gallery in 2018.  It took some time for me to upload it and publish it.  I hope this video will refresh your memory if you were there.
