Solo Exhibition at Garo Asuka, Nara, Japan

      I’m going back to Japan in November for about two and a half weeks! It's been five years since the last time I went back. One of the things I want to do is having a show that I had to cancel two and a half years ago due to the pandemic. It's going to be at Garo Asuka, a Japanese traditional machiya-style art gallery in Asuka-village, the ancient capital of Japan. I love having a show at an unique place like this, and I'm very thrilled. If you're in the area, I hope you and your friends can stop by!

　11月に日本に二週間半ほど帰ります！ 前回から５年ぶりです。 色々やりたいことがあるのですが、その 1 つは、パンデミックのために 2 年半前にキャンセルしなければならなかった個展をすることです。 日本の古都、明日香村にある、画廊飛鳥という、伝統的な町屋スタイルのアートギャラリーでさせてもらいます。こういったユニークな場所でショーをするのが好きなので、とても楽しみにしています！ お近くの方はお誘いあわせの上、是非お立ち寄りください。住所、地図等は下に添付しておりますDM画像をご覧ください。

"Seventeen" and "Sweet" at Cross/Current Show at Mark Arts

      My new assemblage piece "Sweet" is currently on display at a show called "Cross/Current" at Mark Arts in Wichita together with five other artists' works. We were invited to tour Mark Arts' vault and study collection, from which we each selected a piece in advance.

We were then asked to show our own work that we thought would accompany the selected work. I chose "Seventeen" by Helen Trivigno's beautiful enamel on copper piece from the vault collection. Helen Trivigno is an artist who lived from 1920 to 1985. "Seventeen" and "Sweet" are displayed side by side now. To me, it looks like I'm exhibiting my work with her beyond time and space and I feel happy and humbled. The closing date is Friday October 8, from 5:30 - 7:30pm.
